The CCU Ambassadors got off to a slow start losing the first game (blame it on late night drives from Seattle) but won every other game to take the tournament for the third year in a row. Aaron Tom was tournament high scorer and is now King of Scoring (with a trophy to verify the title) and Jeremy Lee won the tournament MVP award. Again.
A change of location for the tournament–the Richmond Olympic Oval in Richmond (near the Vancouver airport and much closer to our hotel)–highlighted our visit. The Oval will host the speed skating events at the 2010 Olympics. The tournament basketball courts are inside the skating track so the cooler air makes it similar to playing in the frozen foods section of the supermarket. I’m not sure if anyone missed the old location at the University of British Columbia but nobody missed the drive and one person even enjoyed the two mile walk back to the hotel.
These photos are highlights of two days of CCU games.
